When a storm damages your home the last thing you want to worry about is how to navigate the insurance claim process. The process can be tricky and overwhelming at times. Thankfully, Howser Roofing is here to help. From start to finish, we will be there to guide you through the process and make sure that you are taken care of. From the moment a storm strikes, to completion of your new roof, you can trust the experts at Howser Roofing.
Step 1: Check for damage as soon as possible
If you suspect that your property has been damaged from a storm, it is important to contact a professional roofer to assess the damage. Even if the roof looks fine on the surface, the shingles could have sustained serious damage that only a trained roofer can spot.
Step 2: Schedule a Free Inspection
Before you call your insurance company it can be beneficial to get a trained and licensed roofer to come out and inspect the property first. It is important to make sure that the roofer that you pick is licensed with the state and insured. Sometimes your roof may not have sustained enough damage to warrant a claim. If we come out and determine that there is not enough damage to warrant an insurance claim, we can help you make the necessary repairs if needed without having to file a claim. Filling unnecessary claims can harm you in the long run, so it is important to have a trained roofer come out first to make sure before calling your insurance company.
Step 3: File a claim
If we come out and determine that it is necessary to file a claim, do so as soon as possible. After your claim is filed, your insurance company will most likely send out an adjuster to come out and inspect the damage to determine what they are going to pay for. Howser Roofing will meet your insurance adjuster at your home to help walk the roof and help you navigate any concerns you may have from the start.
Step 4: Scheduling the Installation of your new roof
Assuming that the insurance has covered the damage on your roof, we will meet you to go over your options to make sure that you get the correct roofing system to meet your needs and budget. At Howser Roofing, our goal is to inform you of the different types of roofing systems available to you, help you decide what is best, and not try to upsell you a roof that you may not want or need. Our goal is to make sure that you get your new roof for as little money out of your pocket as possible.
Step 5: Completion of your new roof
Once your new roof has been completed, we will walk the property with you to make sure that you are 100% satisfied. Once 100% satisfaction is achieved, you will receive payment from your insurance company directly after proof is given that the repairs have been made. Howser Roofing doesn’t ask for any money up front, only once you have been paid from your insurance company and are completely satisfied. Beware of contractors that ask for money up front.
